Sara and the babysitter

I left Sara with a babysitter that was not a family member for the first time EVER last night. I was a little worried, not sure how she'd react, but she had her brother and sister there and I was sure everything would be okay. We started a new movie (Bolt) and set a big bowl of popcorn in the middle of the kids before leaving. Sara was right in the middle of all of them eating away and watching the cartoon when I leaned over to kiss her goodbye. She pushed me away and when I said, "Sara, Mommy's leaving", she barely glanced at me, shoved her waving fist in my face (while still watching the movie) said "Ba Ma" (translated... "Bye, Mommy") then kept eating and watching, not glancing my way again. I'm glad she is so well adjusted but feel just a little cheated I didn't get all the drama of alligator tears. Oh well.

If it makes you feel better, I find an alligator and make him cry...

Well, if it makes you feel better, you have helped her learn something about faith! She has faith that you will return, and faith that you have arranged things that will keep her safe and happy while you are gone! That is something like the kind speech MY mom gave me when I was kind of conflicted about you leaving me for kindergarten for the first time totally happy. It does tug at one's heart! Love, Mom :-)
