I love the proud smile MaryKate shows when she gets through her piece without making any mistakes. Nikolai actually plays through Jingle Bells twice on this video clip. The second one is MUCH smoother and sounds great so make sure you watch the whole thing. (If you'd rather, fast forward it to 1:17 that's when the second time around begins... if I could have edited it I would've cut out the first half)

Piano Practice
Nikolai and MaryKate started piano lessons at the beginning of the summer. They have a wonderful teacher (a good friend of mine who happens to be named Sarah and who happens to be one of the four Sarah's MY Sara is named for). I am very proud of both of them. They are enjoying it and are getting better every week. (I think we still need to work on posture... maybe a higher bench for the piano MaryKate is on will help.) The best part about it is they WANT to learn so there is no hassle to get them to practice. Sara loves to listen to them and she is starting to "dance". MaryKate held her on her lap this afternoon and showed her how to bang on the keys. It was too cute.

Good for you both, MaryKate and Nikolai!!! I started practicing the piano lately, too. I wish your Mom was here to tell me how i am doing better! Isn't she a wonderful Mom for you? Next time you visit here, I hope you will play your songs on the piano here!!! Love, Grandma Diane
Wow!!!What a fun and delightful time to have the kids playing piano. They sound great and really know how to use their fingers well. Even hands together after such a short time! I love your positive cheering them on, Heidi. I think their teacher must be a treasure. Hope I get to hear them again. Love, Aunt Sylvia Bielefeldt
