Mother's Day

Yes, Mother's Day was spent in the hospital, but it ended up being a really great day. Kevin brought Nikolai, MaryKate and Sara down to spend the day with me. It was a good thing it was a Children's hospital so there was plenty to keep them occupied.
MaryKate showed up with a blue nose and I never got a satisfactory explanation as to where she got it.
There is an awesome, large playground downstairs in a courtyard off of the surgical waiting area. I discovered it one day while I was wandering, trying to stretch my legs. The kids enjoyed playing down there and getting their wiggles out.

Sara even took her afternoon nap in the hospital, letting me rock her to sleep. I laid down with her while the big kids were watching a movie in our room. She loved having the special Mommy time again.
Happy baby. He had missed his family so much and was getting rather stir crazy by this point so a day of distraction was exactly what he and I needed.
Each floor also has a play room that is open during certain hours of the day. There were a large variety of toys to keep all the kids, from baby Kyle to 10 year old Nikolai entertained. There was also a computer that the bigger kids enjoyed playing games on. There is a baby station that Sara latched onto that has kid versions of all the hospital paraphernalia, including an IV pole! I love the intense look on her face as she examines the baby doll.
The look of concentration on Kyle's face! He MISSED his brother and sister. The hospital is way too quiet yet too loud at the same time. I like this picture also because you can see Kyle's perfect little elf ear. They were the first things I noticed when he was born and have loved them ever since.
