quick Thursday morning update

I'll give a more detailed post this evening but I had some really great news I wanted to share. Kyle's weight this morning was all the way up to 11 lbs 9 oz!!!!! He is almost back to the bottom of the weight charts! He is the least sick kid on the floor (there are just cardiology patients here). He should get his chest tubes out this afternoon and he will be going home in a day or two!!!!! The only reason they would hold him until Saturday is to make sure he is steadily gaining weight since he is exclusively breast feeding they can't measure how much he is taking in. If there are minor complications, like if his chest tubes continue to drain at a too high rate to take out today, the very latest will be Sunday. This has definitely been the longest several weeks of my life and I am so very happy to see the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately his AHCCCS insurance has not gone through yet. Please pray that will happen before we are discharged. It will make life so much less complicated for me.

I am amazed at how well he is doing! It makes my heart ache to think of him even needing morphine, he is such a fighter. We've been praying for you and insurance. Best of luck.

Oh, how I wish I could be there!!! To visit you and Kyle, and to just be there for you.

I have been having fibromyalgia crash days in between work days, so today is a crash day--major crash day since Wed I visited 4 schools in all. Tomorrow is a work day, but I am in 1 school the whole time. So I am hoping that Saturday I can come to see you instead of crash. I am trying to be thankful I can do as much as I can with my limitations, but sometimes...

We are both praying for you all and your insurance situation. I am so proud of your hard work and dedication and communicating to all of us---Thank you. I love you soooo much. Truly. Love, Mom
