My favorites...

This is the first time I got to hold Kyle after Surgery. My friend, Sara, happened to come and visit so I was able to get a picture. He was allowed to nurse for about 10 minutes and then I was supposed to try and get him to drink a bottle. He was still on morphine at this point so it took over an hour for him to figure out latching on. He was still so connected to all the tubes and wires that it took me and two nurses to get him safely on my lap and I had to get help to put him back in bed.
Going home from the hospital with only band aides! His chest incision is still uncovered, with the steri-strip tape holding the stitches. It looks much better now. Most of the dried blood is gone and it is a healthy pink. Most of his rashes from the irritation from the tape is gone also. We went and bought him several cute band aides since I have to clean and change the bandages on his drainage tubes every day. We got him "Disney Cars", "Transformers" and "Toy Story" band aides. Sara will not let anyone else have them. When MaryKate picked them up just to look at them Sara yelled at her and said "No May-Mame! Baby's Tummy Owies!" I have to make sure he keeps a shirt or bib on all the time and change it immediately if he spits up on it since that can easily infect the incision. He takes a diuretic every morning to help with water retention around his heart and for the next hour or two he sweats so bad he also needs regular changes. We are going through about 5 outfits and 3-4 bibs per day.

All our baggage going home! We needed two wagons to get it all outside. You accumulate a lot of stuff after 2 1/2 weeks in the hospital! The scary thing is I had given Kevin lots of stuff to actually take home over the stay also. Imagine if I hadn't how big this pile would be!

Kyle was all grins and giggles being put in his car seat! We actually had to loosen the straps up for him since he was a whole pound heavier then when we had gone in. Just look how pink my baby is!
